Simian Substitute Sites Of The Month - 1998 Archive

July 1998 - Monkey!
The nature of Monkey is irrepressible! A fan site dedicated to the classic Japanese TV show featuring Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy, the sexually uncertain Tripitaka and everyone else.

August 1998 - Monkeys On The Simpsons
Now part of the all-encompassing Citizen Lunchbox media empire, this page documents every time a monkey's appeared on The Simpsons. Well, somebody had to.

September 1998 - The Fantastic Typing Cybermonkey (dead link)
An attempt at using Java programming to recreate the output of a typing monkey: as text was randomly generated on the screen, you had to watch to see if any Shakespeare came out of it. This is how we used to amuse ourselves on the Internet in those days. There's a partial cached version on Google if you're curious.

October 1998 - Tom The Dancing Bug (featuring Charley the Australopithecine)
He's an australopithecine just like me, so I like him. Charlie and a whole range of other supporting characters crop up frequently in Ruben Bolling's comic strip, so be sure to follow the Archive link and see a few more.

November 1998 - Monkey Hunters Monthly
An incredibly silly cartoon ripped entirely out of context: it's apparently the work of the poet Colonel Chiselton-Bap, whose poetry appears to be not nearly half as much fun as his artwork.

December 1998 - A Sea Monkey Christmas
I've never actually owned any Sea Monkeys, so it was news to me that most of them are Communists. This specially festive section of the Sea Monkey Worship Page tells you how to care for them at Christmas and reveals their appalling taste in carols.
