Let me explain. After much pressure from people who thought it'd be a good idea (yeah, Swells, I'm looking at you), I decided back in Autumn 2000 to put some e-commerce links on this site. As a lot of books, music and film gets reviewed here, it seemed sensible to put in links to Amazon.com and WHSmith, and persuade readers to buy the relevant merchandise for themselves, thus earning me a commission of between five and ten percent of the retail price.
And after three years of this, I decided I couldn't be arsed any more. It's a lot of effort to set up purchase links for CDs, videos and books whenever they appear in an article, and quite frankly hardly anyone was buying anything. So if you've got here by clicking a link in a review, I'm afraid there's nothing for you here.
Oh, all right then, seeing as you're here. You should be able to use the search boxes below to find the items you want on Amazon (in the US) or Smiths (in the UK). I still get five to ten per cent commission, but I'm not expecting any from now on, so it'll be a nice surprise. Go ahead, buy stuff. See if I care.
