In Relation To Me Getting Out Of Bed - Competition ResultThis is the point where I normally get annoyed, of course. Railing at you all for the pathetic number of entries that have arrived for this year's CD competition. But this year was different. Entries flooded in. A torrent, a gush, a veritable... oh, all right, three. And all from some very familiar names too. Still, you'll recall that the prize - a copy of In Relation To Me Getting Out Of Bed, my Pick Of The Year CD for 2001 - was to go to the first person to write in before the closing date of February 28th 2002 with the answer to a moderately tricky question. So commiserations to Rob D, who sent in the correct answer on Wednesday February 13th at 10.10pm, which was too late to be of use. And even bigger commiserations to Simon Aldous, who sent in the correct answer on Thursday January 31st at 5.16pm: also too late. Simon, you may recall, was the winner of the 1999 CD competition. Which is spooky, because... ...both he and Rob were beaten by Uncle Tony of London, England, who was the winner of the 2000 CD competition. And by dint of getting his answer in on Monday January 7th at 12.05pm - less than a day after the competition opened - he also wins this year's. See, if you'd been quicker off the mark it could have been you. Still, congratulations to Tony once again, and the CD's in the post. And just in case any of you care, the answer they all got right was this: the girl group Tanpopo are named after the Japanese word for dandelion. Easy, wasn't it? Ah well, better luck next year...
